Who Should Be Sending & Receiving Alerts?
We recommend the following positions be enrolled to send and receive alerts:
Security Directors / Security Managers / Security Supervisors
Director of Engineering / Engineering Manager
Front Office Managers / Assistant FOMs
Front Desk Supervisors / Leads / Night Audit
General Manager / Hotel Manager
Law Enforcement Partners

How to Send an Alert:
Sending an alert is fast and easy.
1. Open your subscribed email.
(Note: Your email must be subscribed to Boston Hotel Watch to send alerts through the network.)
2. Compose a new message to: alerts@bostonhotelwatch.org
3. Subject Line: Short, clear title (e.g. Suspicious Activity, Eviction, Larceny, etc.)
4. Body of Email: Include as much detail as possible:
Time and date of incident
Location (hotel name and area)
Description of person(s)
Behavior or concern
Actions taken (called PD, asked to leave, evicted, etc.)
Any vehicle info or photos (if available)
You may attach photos or video.
How to Read & Respond to Alerts:
Alerts will arrive via email.
Read each one promptly and share with your relevant team.
If the subject or person is seen at your hotel, take appropriate action per your internal policies (e.g., notify security, contact law enforcement).
You are encouraged to reply to the sender or the group to add updates or confirm sightings.
Best Practices:
Designate one or more team members per shift to monitor alerts.
Include Boston Hotel Watch updates in daily briefings.
Encourage staff to report suspicious behavior to management immediately.
Use alerts as training tools for recognizing patterns and behaviors.
